The remote cove among the pines
Vathi is a secluded cove on the northeast coast of Thasos, between Skala Panagias and Saliara, tucked into dense pine forest. Its shore of sand and rock remains one of the island's least accessible and least disturbed corners.
The pines run almost down to the water and cast their shade over the sand, giving the bay the character of a wild, natural beach. It lies just beyond Saliara and Porto Vathi, along the same lacy, wooded coastline of the northeastern tip.
The beach is unorganised. From land it is hard to reach, by dirt road from Makryammos and Saliara, while a sea taxi offers an easier approach. The trees provide natural shade.
