Atspas, also known as Sugar Beach, is a small sandy bay on the western coast of Thasos, at Skala Marion. It forms like an opening between two rocky headlands, with very fine sand both on the shore and in the water.
The nickname 'Sugar Beach' refers to the sugary texture of its sand, so fine it recalls sugar. It belongs to the cluster of beaches at Skala Marion, on the western side of the island, below the traditional village of Maries.
It is organized and family-oriented, with a beach bar, sunbeds, umbrellas and parking. Access is by a surfaced road, and the nearby village offers additional services.
