The sands on the Astris cape

Salonikios is a sandy beach at the southernmost tip of Thasos, in the Astris area near Potos. It takes its name from the cape of the same name on which it spreads.

Pines descend to the shore and the view opens to the horizon, while the beach combines sand, pebbles and slabs of flat rock. It lies about seven kilometres from Potos, on the cape that closes the island to the south.

It is organised, with toilets, showers, a place for food and drink, sunbeds, umbrellas, a volleyball court and parking. Access is by a passable dirt road, with care needed on its final stretch.
