A fishing village with three beaches
Skala Marion on the southwest coast is a lively fishing village with three beaches: the central harbour beach (sand turning pebbly at the shore), Atspas (white sand, very shallow turquoise) and Platanes (fine sand). Thasos is the white-marble island, beautifully green.
Road access (asphalt); the harbour has fish tavernas, and Atspas/Platanes are partly organized. The southwest aspect gives relative shelter from northerly winds.
