The golden sands of Gregolimano

Chrysi Akti lies at Gregolimano in northwestern Evia, near Loutra Aidipsou, in a bay facing south. It owes its name to its fine golden sand, and local guides describe it as perhaps the most impressive beach of northern Evia.

Gregolimano is closely identified with the Club Med resort of the same name, which has operated there since 1977, one of the group's historic resorts in Greece, recently renovated with a major investment. A short distance away are Loutra Aidipsou, famous since antiquity for their thermal springs.

The beach is organized, with a cafe and a taverna a short distance away and parking close by. Access is by paved road, and the seabed is shallow, with fine and coarser sand.
