The natural cove with the caves at Mesochoria
Almyrichi, also known as Armyrichi, lies at Mesochoria in southern Evia, on the Aegean-facing side of the Karystos municipality. Locals use the two names interchangeably, and the name most likely refers to the armyriki, the hardy tamarisk tree that thrives by the sea on many Greek shores.
The beach forms inside a natural cove, framed by imposing rocks on both sides, and descriptions mention small caves at its edges and a shore of sand with fine white pebbles. It is considered one of the loveliest corners of the Karystia area, in a part of Evia that remains off the busiest tourist routes.
It remains unorganized, with no fixed facilities, so visitors bring what they need. Two small tavernas above the beach are mentioned, and the approach passes through the Mesochoria area, with Nea Styra relatively close by.
