Stomio's twin with the white pebbles
Cheromylos lies on the southeastern coast of Evia, on the Aegean side, about five kilometres from Agioi Apostoloi near Petries. It stretches just beyond Stomio beach, with which it is often described as a twin pair, and stands out for its fine white pebbles, which give the water a hue many compare to the Ionian.
Most of the shore is covered in fine white pebbles, which towards the southern end give way to coarser sand. Behind the beach, about a hundred metres from the waterline, tamarisks and low vegetation offer natural shade, a feature that has made Cheromylos a well-known destination for free camping.
It remains a completely unorganized and spacious beach, with no confirmed facilities such as toilets or showers, so visitors need to bring along whatever they will need. The condition of the final stretch of the road is not fully documented.
