The kitesurf spot facing Elafonisos
A mainland sandy beach, ~350 m across the channel from Elafonisos, with golden sand, dunes and cedars and shallow, warm water — family-friendly. It is also the ferry departure point for the island.
The narrow strait between the mainland and the island is a well-known kitesurf/windsurf spot. A submerged ancient settlement is also noted in the shallows offshore.
