Secluded pebbles with freshwater springs
Ampelo is a secluded pebble beach in Mesa Mani, in Lakonia, below the settlement of Agios Kyprianos. It is washed by the waters of the Lakonian gulf, far from the crowds.
Its distinctive feature, according to local accounts, is the freshwater springs that well up at its two ends. A small path from the middle of the beach leads to a little chapel of Agios Ioannis.
Access is not easy: from Agios Kyprianos a concrete road descends toward Kastrochori and ends in a steep final section. The beach is not organized and has no amenities, so you will need to bring whatever you require.
