Vlychada: hidden below Parnonas
Vlychada is a secluded white-pebble beach on the eastern coast of Lakonia, below the village of Reichea in the municipality of Monemvasia. It stretches along a wild, remote shore between Kyparissi and Monemvasia.
The beach lies at the foot of Mount Parnonas, at the end of a long descending route through forested slopes. Directly above the shore is a climbing park that has made Vlychada known to climbers from Greece and abroad. The name Vlychada, shared by many Greek shores, is traditionally linked to the brackish spring water that once surfaced near the sea.
The shore is lined with white pebbles and rock, and the water deepens quickly. No organized services are recorded, and road access remains, for now, unconfirmed by a direct source.
