Neratziona: golden sand in Vatika

Neratziona beach lies in the Vatika area, near Neapoli Voion in southern Lakonia. It is a sandy shore of golden sand and shallow water, also known as Panagitsa.

Behind the beach lies a small lagoon, while the sand continues south and joins the long coastal stretch of Pounta, opposite Elafonisos. Along the same coast, near Pavlopetri, is the submerged prehistoric settlement that has made the area famous.

Near the beach there are tavernas, cafes and parking, while seasonal sunbeds are set out in places. Access is by paved road, and the shallow water makes it convenient for families.
