Bozas: the sands of Asopos

Bozas is a sandy beach on the Laconian Gulf, about 4.5 km from Asopos in Lakonia. It spreads along an open, low-lying shore away from the region's busier destinations.

The pebbles gradually give way to coarse and fine sand, with natural shade in places. In the wider area archaeologists place the ancient city of Asopos, from which the settlement is said to take its name. The beach has a beach-volleyball court, where the local cultural association holds tournaments from time to time.

The beach is not set up with fixed sunbeds, but a taverna-cafe and parking are close by. It is reached by a paved road through the Asopos plain.
