The hidden corner of Vourvourou

Fava lies in Vourvourou, on the eastern coast of Sithonia in Halkidiki, just south of the well-known Karydi beach. It is a small shore split into coves by large rocks, with sand, pebbles and rocky patches, ringed by the forested hills of the peninsula.

Its character is intensely natural: the seabed alternates rocky stretches with fine sand and the depth increases fairly quickly, while across the Singitic gulf the Athos peninsula traces the horizon. It is said to be one of the corners favoured by Vourvourou locals, having remained less known than its neighbours.

The beach is entirely unorganized, with no fixed facilities, and its rocky sections lend themselves to snorkeling. Access is from the Vourvourou road, with parking nearby and a short descent with steps down to the shore.
