The grand sweep of sand on the Siggitikos

Trani Ammouda stretches along the northeastern coast of Sithonia in Halkidiki, a few hundred meters from Ormos Panagias. The name says it all: "trani" means grand or large, and this is one of the most extensive sandy beaches on the peninsula. It is also known as Livrohio.

Olive groves and low greenery spread behind the sand, while across the Siggitikos Gulf the Athos peninsula rises on the horizon. Next door sits Ormos Panagias, a small fishing village that serves as the harbor of Agios Nikolaos and the starting point for boat trips around Mount Athos. The beach is reported to have repeatedly earned Blue Flag status.

Fine sand and shallow water come with a paved road reaching close to the shore. There are organized sections with seasonal sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar, as well as free stretches, with cafes and tavernas nearby and roadside parking.
