The green bay of western Kassandra

Elani lies on the west coast of Kassandra in Halkidiki, between Sani and Siviri, a few kilometres north of the latter. It is a beach of roughly 400 metres, set in a small bay framed by low rocks at either end, with the small settlement of the same name grown up around it.

Its character is distinctly green: dense pine forest and low scrub reach almost to the shore, giving the bay the feel of a gentler, lived-in countryside compared with Kassandra's big resorts. The shore is among the Blue Flag awarded beaches of Halkidiki, and a large hotel complex in the area has tied its name to the bay.

The beach is organized in sections, with sunbeds and umbrellas in season, while its terrain mixes coarse sand with pebbles and the water deepens gradually. Cafes and tavernas are close by, as are the amenities of the settlement; access is by a paved road to near the beach and parking is available.
