The double sandy cove with the islet
Lagonisi lies on the east coast of Sithonia, between Ormos Panagias and Vourvourou, with fine white sand and views over the Singitic Gulf. A narrow strip of land splits the shore into two sections, and the name points to the small islet that stands out in front of the bay.
For years the beach remained little known beyond the area, but in recent years it has become one of eastern Sithonia's best-loved spots. Across the water spread Diaporos and the scattered islets of Vourvourou, a landscape of low vegetation and constant interplay of land and sea that recalls a lagoon.
In summer the beach is organized, with a beach bar, sunbeds, umbrellas and snacks, and there is also natural shade. The water is shallow and the seabed lends itself to snorkeling. Access is from the Ormos Panagias-Vourvourou road via a short passable dirt track, with parking that fills early in high season.
