Sykia's little natural anchorage

Tourkolimnionas sits on the eastern coast of Sithonia, about two kilometres south of Sykia, a sandy cove within the village's stretch of shoreline. The second part of its name, limnionas, is a folk word for a small natural anchorage, and it suits the enclosed shape of the bay.

Pines come down almost to the sand, giving the landscape the character of southern Sithonia, with the turquoise waters that have made the beaches of Sykia well known. The cove neighbours other small beaches of the area, such as Klimataria and Kriaritsi.

It is organized, with sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar in summer, while cafes and tavernas can be found nearby toward Sykia. The sand is fine, the water is shallow, and the paved road from Sykia reaches close to the beach, with roadside parking.
