Sand and pines south of Nikiti

Akti Kalogrias lies in western Sithonia, Halkidiki, about five kilometres south of Nikiti on the road towards Neos Marmaras. It is a long, narrow strip of fine pale sand, among the best-known shores of the peninsula's northwestern side. Its name echoes the Greek word for a nun, though the story behind it has not been reliably recorded.

Its character comes from the pine forest that reaches within a few metres of the waterline and casts natural shade, a rare thing for so popular a shore. It belongs to the string of beaches south of Nikiti that reportedly saw a tourism boom from the 1980s, when the fishing village of Nikiti grew into one of Sithonia's main destinations.

The beach is organized, with sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars and tavernas nearby, and the water in front of the sand is shallow. The final stretch of the approach is a short passable dirt road, and parking fills quickly in high season. It is among the shores awarded the Blue Flag for 2026.
