Mavro Lithari, also known as Eden Beach, spreads along the Athens-Sounio coastal route on the edge of Saronida and Anavyssos, in the municipality of Saronikos. This is the sandy stretch of shore around the dark rock that gave the area its name, facing southwest toward the Saronic Gulf.

The wider Anavyssos area has a long history: it is said that in antiquity it was called Anaflystos, perhaps after Anaflystos, son of Troezen, who according to tradition migrated from the Argolid to Attica. In our times the shore is listed among the Greek beaches awarded the Blue Flag.

The fine sand continues into the water, with a shallow, gradual entry. The shore is organised in sections, with sunbeds, umbrellas and snack bars at the organised spots, while the paved road reaches close to the beach and parking is available.
