The "Three Rocks" on the Libyan coast
The name means literally "three rocks", after the three large rocks rising at the shore. A small peninsula divides two beaches, on the south Libyan coast ~52 km from Rethymno.
It was once the winter encampment of the villagers of Akoumia, who kept huts beside their olive groves. It is lightly organised, open and rarely crowded — famous for its vast skies and sunsets.
