Mikros Gialos lies on the southeast coast of Lefkada, in the deep bay of Poros and also known as Rouda Bay or Poros beach, about thirty kilometres from the old town. Its name means, quite literally, 'small shore' (gialos).

The pebbly beach sits in the same bay as the village of Poros, which is said to have once been known across Epirus and the Ionian for its handmade knives, the 'porsanika', an art now lost. Nearby, the little chapel of the Ascension is reported to hold Byzantine frescoes from the sixteenth century.

The beach is organized, with beach bars, tavernas, sunbeds, umbrellas and parking, and a campsite nearby. It is reached by a paved road that descends to the shore.
