The town beach of Agios Nikolaos

The town’s central beach, next to Lake Voulismeni, with light golden sand and gentle water, ringed by tavernas and restaurants — convenient rather than spectacular.

The name ("Kitroplatia", citron square) recalls the citron trade that flourished here last century; boats loaded citrons from stone slabs still visible underwater.

About this beach

The bay at Kitroplatia opens to the east, so it usually has natural cover from southerly, south-easterly and south-westerly winds. Orientation only reflects which way the coast faces, not confirmed shelter, so check wind and waves in the app before you go.

Kitroplatia has sand and pebbles underfoot with shallow, gently shelving water — handy for families with young children.

For amenities, Kitroplatia has an organised beach, sunbeds and food nearby. It has a Seatrac assisted-access unit for accessibility — confirm it is in service before travelling.
