Avlonia: a pebbled cove in the Mastic Villages

Avlonia is a small beach on the south-west coast of Chios, in the region of the Mastic Villages, a few kilometres from Mesta.

It lies in a small cove of pebbles and rocks, in the same corner of the island as the famous medieval mastic villages of Mesta, Pyrgi and Olympoi. The mix of shingle and rocky shore gives the bay its own character.

This is an unorganised beach of pebbles and rocks with some natural shade. There is parking nearby, while the exact route down to the shore is not fully confirmed, so it is worth checking on the spot.
