The beach that raised generations of Athenians

A' Plaz Voulas sits on the seafront of Voula, in the southern suburbs of Athens, with fine sand both on the shore and into the sea. It is one of the historic organized beaches of the Athens Riviera, rooted in the era of the great EOT bathing complexes.

Its story begins in the mid-1960s, when the coastal avenue towards Sounio brought Athenians closer to the sea. In the 1970s and 1980s it is remembered as one of the few beaches with organized changing facilities, while the basketball and volleyball courts beside the sand made it a meeting point for whole families. After a period of renovation it operates once again as an organized beach.

It runs with an entrance fee and offers sunbeds, umbrellas, a beach bar and food service, showers, toilets and changing rooms, plus a lifeguard and nursing staff in season. A paved road leads close to the entrance, with parking nearby, while natural shade is limited.
