The blond-sand shore between Lourdata and Skala

Koroni lies on the southern coast of Kefalonia, between Lourdata and Skala, about 22 kilometres from Argostoli. It is a sandy beach of fine blond and coarse sand with rocks, on a stretch of coast that has stayed largely undeveloped.

It stretches along the bay of Mounda on the island's southern side, with an open horizon over the Ionian Sea. Because the surrounding villages sit well back from the sea, Koroni has kept its plain, natural character, while the wider bay is reported as a nesting ground for the loggerhead sea turtle, Caretta caretta.

Access is by a dirt road whose condition can change, with parking near the beach. It is not an organized beach.
