The long sandy shore of Lassi
Makris Gialos stretches along the Lassi area, a few kilometres south of Argostoli, on the western coast of Kefalonia. Its name, which literally means 'the long shore', describes the extended strip of fine sand that gives the beach its character.
It is one of the island's most popular beaches, part of the Lassi seafront that begins just outside the capital. The shore faces west toward the Ionian Sea and is framed by low rocky headlands that separate the area's successive coves.
It is fully organized, with beach bars, sun loungers, umbrellas, parking and water sports, and is easily reached by a paved road from Lassi. It has been awarded a Blue Flag.
