The white pebbles below the cliffs
An arc of ~1.5 km of small, smooth white pebbles (marble from eroded limestone), below towering white cliffs reaching ~200 m. The bay was formed by tectonic subsidence — the land literally sank.
The blue-on-white contrast makes it one of Greece’s most photographed beaches; the panoramic viewpoint before the final switchbacks is worth a stop. The water deepens quickly and there is no natural shade.
