The small sandy cove at Fanari
Kalamia is a small sandy beach in the Lassi area, near Argostoli and the lighthouse of Agioi Theodoroi, on the western edge of Kefalonia. It lies just a few steps from the main road, in the zone known as Fanari.
The shore is framed by white limestone rocks with small sea caves reachable on foot from the beach. A little further stands the lighthouse of Agioi Theodoroi, a circular Doric structure of 1829 from the period of British rule, rebuilt after the earthquakes of 1953, which gave the area its name, Fanari (the lantern).
It is not fully organized; a canteen and café operate there, and there is parking. Access is by a paved road from Lassi and Argostoli.
