The pebbly cove below Zola

Agia Kyriaki lies on the western side of Kefalonia, below the fishing village of Zola, at the narrow neck of the Paliki peninsula. It is a beach of pebbles and coarse sand that carries the name of the saint Agia Kyriaki, as is common for the country chapels of Kefalonia.

Its position is of geographical interest: by one reading of Strabo's 'Geography', the narrowest part of the island, from the gulf of Argostoli towards Agia Kyriaki, is the stretch that matches his description of an ancient isthmus that may once have divided the Paliki peninsula from the rest of Kefalonia.

A small harbour lies alongside, while the beach has a taverna with seasonal facilities. Natural shade can be found among the trees, and access is by a paved road.
