The two coves beneath the little chapel

Agios Thomas lies on the southern coast of Kefalonia, near the village of Karavados and about 13 kilometres from Argostoli. It is in fact two small sandy beaches set among rocky slabs, one tucked into a little cove and the other more open, which took their name from the chapel of Agios Thomas that stands a short way inland.

The view opens onto the Ionian Sea, with Zakynthos visible to the south and Mount Ainos, the island's highest peak, dominating the background. The rock slabs give the beach its distinctive character, between the fine sand and the deeper water.

A canteen and a nearby taverna operate here, with parking beside the shore, and the setup is seasonal. Access is by a paved road.
