The hidden cove of hollowed rocks
Apotripiti is a small, secluded cove near Sidari in northern Corfu, a little beyond the Canal d'Amour. It has fine sand and is ringed by tall, hollowed cliffs of clay and limestone. Its name recalls the pierced, cavernous rocks that enclose the bay.
The steep formations and dense vegetation give it a sense of isolation. A local feature is the natural clay of the rocks, which many visitors are said to smear on their skin and let dry before rinsing off in the sea, an improvised spa.
It is an unorganized beach with no facilities. Access is on foot, through a parking area and down a wooden staircase to the shore.
