The fishing village facing the Diapontia islands

Agios Stefanos lies in northwest Corfu, the sandy shore of the resort of the same name below the village of Avliotes, with a long strip of fine sand. It is also called San Stefano, using the Italian version of the name, to set it apart from the other Agios Stefanos on the island's east coast.

It was originally a small fishing hamlet belonging to Avliotes, with a few houses, a little church and a small harbor from which the locals set out to fish. From its natural harbor you can see the Diapontia islands, Othonoi, Erikoussa and Mathraki, the three inhabited islands of the little cluster, while further off the Adriatic opens toward Italy.

It is an organized beach of fine sand and shallow waters, with sunbeds, umbrellas, tavernas and parking. Access is by a paved road.
