The long shore among the trees

Dassia lies about 12 kilometres north of Corfu Town, on the island's eastern coast, with a long organized shore of pebbles and coarse sand. Its name evokes the Greek word 'dasos' (forest), thanks to the dense greenery, the cypresses and olive trees that run down to the sea.

Dassia was one of the first parts of Corfu to be developed for tourism, back in the 1950s. One of the early Club Méditerranée holiday villages operated in the area, considered among the first all-inclusive resorts in Greece. The beach has been awarded a Blue Flag.

The beach is organized, with beach bars, tavernas, sunbeds and water sports, while the trees offer natural shade. There is a parking area, and access is by a paved road through the village of Dassia.
