White pebbles beneath the green hills of the north
Kerasia stretches along the northeast coast of Corfu, between the fishing hamlet of Agios Stefanos Sinion and the resort of Kassiopi, its white pebbles backed by green hills that tumble down to the sea. Its name echoes the Greek word for cherry tree.
This northeastern shore has been sculpted by sea and wind over millennia into a string of small pebbly coves framed by wooded slopes. At one end of the bay stands the Rothschild family mansion, which has hosted notable guests over the years, while a coastal footpath links Kerasia with neighbouring Agios Stefanos. Across the strait, the coast of Albania is visible in the distance.
In our records its access remains unverified and no organized facilities are listed, in keeping with the secluded character of this northeastern coast.
