The coves of the Phaeacians
A cluster of small coves between limestone cliffs that plunge into blue water; the western cliffs hide sea caves reachable only by boat. Above the bay stands the monastery of the Virgin Mary (founded 1228).
By tradition, this was the land of the Phaeacians, where the shipwrecked Odysseus met Nausicaa (Homeric myth, not history). One of Corfu’s busiest spots, with boat trips to the caves.
