The golden strand beside the Canal d'Amour

Sidari beach lies on the north coast of Corfu, about 34 km from the town, at the seaside resort of the same name, with fine golden sand. It faces north and is one of the island's best-known strands.

Just to the west opens the famous Canal d'Amour, where wind and sea have carved the sandstone rocks into narrow passages and small caves. Tradition holds that whoever swims through the channel will find the love of their life, a legend that gave the shore its French name. Traces of Mesolithic and Neolithic settlement, among the oldest on the island, have been found in the Sidari area.

It is an organized sandy beach with plenty of amenities: beach bars, tavernas, sunbeds, umbrellas and parking, reached by a paved road down through Sidari. The first few metres from the shore are shallow and sandy.
