The great beach of the north

Zorkos lies on the northern coast of Andros, far from the main settlements, and is considered one of the largest and most striking beaches on the island: a broad bay of golden, in places coarse, sand embraced by mountains.

Its isolation is part of its identity. The landscape stays largely natural, with vegetation running down towards the shore, and it is vast enough to offer plenty of room even when there are people about.

Access is a roughly half-hour drive from Gavrio followed by a final dirt/good gravel road of about 5 km. A beach bar and a tavern operate seasonally, there are sunbeds and parking nearby, and the water is shallow.
