Marathias beach lies at the southern tip of Zakynthos, in the area of Keri, a pebbled shore with rocks beneath the cape that shares its name. It is a wilder, more natural corner of the island, away from the large resorts.
Keri is among the southernmost villages of Zakynthos, built on the slope of Cape Marathias, near the small islet of Marathonisi, which for its shape is also called "Turtle Island." The shore is shaded by pines and serves as a starting point for the caves and cliffs of the cape.
It is an unorganized beach, with natural shade rather than sunbeds, while tavernas and cafés lie nearby in the Keri area, along with parking. The water is deep and access is by a local road.
