The golden strand shaped like a crescent

Banana Beach is one of the longest sandy beaches on Zakynthos and the largest on the Vasilikos peninsula, on its northeastern side. It unrolls in a single arc of fine golden sand more than five hundred meters long before it meets the neighboring Ionio beach.

Its name is attributed to its distinctive curved shape, reminiscent of a banana, as it forms a long, crescent-shaped bay. Behind the sand spread the dense pine woods and Mediterranean scrub of Vasilikos, a peninsula that has remained sparsely settled and forested down the years.

It is fully organized, with beach bars, sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports and parking, and it has been awarded a Blue Flag. Access is by paved road from Vasilikos.
