The harbour shore with the old name

Tourkikos Gialos stretches south of the Kastro of Myrina, on Lemnos, beside the harbour and the anchorage of the fishing boats and caïques. It is the second of the two shores divided by the castle rock, facing Romeikos Gialos.

Its name dates from the Ottoman period, when the quarter behind the shore was inhabited by the Turks of Myrina, while the opposite one was home to the Greeks. Above the sand run cafés, restaurants and tavernas, making the area one of the liveliest parts of the town.

The shore is of coarse sand and pebbles and is semi-organized, with tavernas and cafés a short distance away and parking nearby. Access is easy, within Myrina.
