Gidaki lies on the coast near Vathy, on the eastern side of Ithaca, a beach of snow-white pebbles that many count among the loveliest on the island. It has no road access down to the shore, so you reach it by small boat from Vathy or along a footpath from Skinos.

White cliffs crowned with green vegetation frame the beach, with larger pebbles on its western end and finer ones to the east. Its name is a diminutive of the Greek word for goat (gidi), while across the open sea the uninhabited island of Atokos is said to be visible.

The beach is unorganized, with a seasonal canteen and deep water, and the vegetation provides shade. Access is mainly by small boat from Vathy or along the easy footpath from the Skinos area.
