The narrow cove where pines meet the sea

Skinos is a narrow cove east of Vathy on Ithaca, where pine trees come down to the water's edge. It lies within the bay of the same name, a rocky, pebbled shore set among dense vegetation.

The pines are mirrored in the sea and give natural shade, while the landscape stays wild and almost untouched. From Skinos begins the footpath that leads to the neighbouring beach of Gidaki, tying together the two coves of the eastern coast.
