The small pebbled cove on the road to Perdika

Mikri Ammos is a small, picturesque cove on the coast of Thesprotia, a few kilometres outside Syvota on the road towards Perdika. Its shoreline is short, with fine and coarse pebbles running down to the water. Its name sets it apart from the neighbouring, larger Mega Ammos, which lies a little further along towards Syvota.

Syvota spreads around a small bay dotted with little islets, framed by olive groves and the tall mountains of Epirus, and is often called 'the Caribbean of Greece'. Tradition holds that the naval battle of Sybota was fought offshore near the Sybota islands in 433 BC, at the outset of the Peloponnesian War. Despite its modest size, Mikri Ammos stands out for its beach bar, which has made it one of the liveliest coves in Syvota.

It is organized, with sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach bar, and has a parking area. Access is by a paved road from Syvota towards Perdika.
