The strand of the Roman general
Arilla is a large sandy beach in Thesprotia, the seaside part of the historic village of Perdika, between Sivota and Parga. By tradition, its name is traced to a Roman general, Arilla, who is said to have held the area in Roman times.
The shore spreads out in fine and coarse sand before a lush green landscape, with a small harbour at its edge. It belongs to the residents of Perdika and is counted among the most distinctive strands of the prefecture, often likened, for its shape, to Voidokilia in Messinia.
The beach is unorganised, with only seasonal facilities. There are tavernas and parking in the area, while access is by paved road from Perdika.
