The little sandy cove by the harbour

Karvouno is a small sandy beach at Sivota in Thesprotia, the closest to the resort's harbour, set in lush green surroundings. Its length is reported at around eighty metres, with fine sand.

Sivota has borne its name since antiquity: the naval Battle of Sybota of 433 BC, between Corinth and Corcyra, is placed in the waters off this coast, one of the events that led up to the Peloponnesian War. The village itself was called Mourtos under Ottoman rule, until in 1959 the ancient name returned.

The beach is organised, with a beach bar, sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, a changing room and toilets, while there is parking in the area and the option of arriving by boat from the pier.
