A cove on the wine-country coast of Maroneia, on the western foothills of Mt Ismaros, with views over the Thracian Sea. Its distinctive feature: a large 6th-c. (Justinian-era) three-aisled basilica was excavated right at the shore.
Antiquities surround it — the theatre of ancient Maroneia and ancient Ismaros. By tradition, Odysseus landed here on his way up to Maroneia (the Homeric Ismaros).
