A river-mouth beach below an ancient temple
A small cove of sand and pebble with crystal-clear water, at the mouth of the Chalaris river in a green gorge — so it pairs the sea with freshwater behind it. Above the beach survive the ruins of the temple of Artemis Tauropolos (6th c. BC); the name "Nas" is a contraction of "naós" (temple).
Mostly undeveloped, with a few tavernas and rooms on the hill; access by steps/path from the road (parking above). Take care of the currents when swimming. (Stories of submerged columns or melted-down marble belong to local tradition.)
