The sandy spit between two seas

At the southernmost tip of Rhodes, an islet is joined to the island by a sandy strip (a tombolo): in summer you walk across it, in winter it submerges and Prasonisi becomes a true island.

The strip has sea on both sides with completely different conditions — one flat (beginners), the other choppy (advanced). It is a windsurf/kitesurf mecca thanks to the steady Meltemi (roughly Apr–Oct).
