The central beach of Corinth
Kalamia is the central beach of the city of Corinth, an urban shore that spreads along its seafront.
Its name is said to come from the many reeds (kalamia) that once grew in the area before its tourist development. The shore, some 1.6 kilometres long, holds the Blue Flag and is the most popular swimming spot for the people of Corinth.
It is organized, with seasonal sun loungers and umbrellas, a beach bar and cafes, seasonal showers and WC, and parking nearby. The shore is of coarse sand and pebbles, and road access is direct, within the city.
