The pine-clad islet with the little bridge

Aponisos sits at the southwestern tip of Agistri, beyond Limenaria, where pine trees reach all the way down to the sea. Its name, from the Greek words "apo" and "nisos", points to the small islet lying just off the shore, joined to Agistri by a little bridge that forms two coves, one on either side.

The landscape feels almost untouched: dense pines end on flat rocks that slip into the water, and the small bay serves as an anchorage for boats and small craft. The islet is privately owned, and the wider area, together with Megaritissa and Kontari, is reported to hold the island's greatest archaeological interest. Crossing the little bridge gives the impression of moving between two islands.

The shore is rocky with pebbles and deep water, with spots for diving off the rocks. It operates as an organized beach under private management with a seasonal entrance during the summer months, offering sunbeds, umbrellas, a restaurant and a cafe. Access is by road, along a paved surface that reaches close to the beach, with parking available.
